The young man had tried on the bomber jacket that we had created from upcycled materials. It was a lined windbreaker, polished with simple lines. He really liked it. I do, too.

I asked him to try on the Kite Jacket. We position it as chore coat. It’s made of canvas tweed and fits more loosely over a t-shirt or work shirt. Good for a Fall day.

He held it up and said, “I really never cared for the unfinished look.”

Fair enough. We all have a style or one we are developing.

Later, the unfinished thing came back to mind.

I slid the jacket on and called to my son, “Take my picture, Evan. I’m unfinished.”

Aren’t we all?
